Description
Advent is the time of year when our hearts and prayers focus again on the birth of Jesus. Letters For Advent follows two fictional children who explore why we celebrate Christmas, looking at Bible passages that look forward to Jesus’ birth.
Oliver and Emily are excited for Christmas and want to learn more about why the birth of Jesus was so eagerly anticipated. As they explore passages in the Bible which point towards the arrival of the coming King, they write their thoughts down in a letter to send to you. Oliver and Emily will send you a letter each week over the 4 weeks of Advent, which include the Bible passage they are looking at (paraphrased for easy understanding) as well as their thoughts on it too. Alongside the letters, you will get access to short videos to help reinforce the ideas from the passage and aid with comprehension.
On the reverse of each letter are activities to help your child think about what they have read. There are boxes to write down ‘aha’ moments, spaces to jot down any questions and a place to write ideas for application points.
These letters make for a great family Bible study, so there are some helpful “Talk About It” questions and some ideas for prayer too.
The font of the letters are in a cursive style to give the appearance of handwriting but we understand that this might be a little difficult for some to read so also have to option of an easy-to-read version, which is written in a standard font with extra line spacing too (great for making notes too!).
